What I Consume In A Day | #1

In my family, there is much ado about everything...such a busy and bustling day that starts for me while the moon is out, the stars or cloud blanket the sky and the night is as dark and an onyx stone. 4am is when I rise and workout, while my hubby and little ones still slumber. As much as I plan for the day ahead the night before, as a mum of 2 little active boys ages 2 and 1, it is not surprise that things may change in the schedule. But I make sure to stick as much to the routine as I can in regards to me....so, let me share a typical day of what I devour:


Typically, a large 64 oz. green smoothie is a mourning staple for me. My love for them is neverending becuase I can get my vegetables in with my fruits, along with seeds (hemp, chia or flax) and spices. Tumeric, cinnamon and ginger are always the three dancers within the greens - antioxidants galore and anti-inflammitory properties are key for the body. One of my go-to combinations is bananas, kale, spinach, arugula, dandelion, tumeric, hemp, a few dates and coconut or distilled water. It's filling and keps me satisfied for a good 3 hours and fuels me for the little ones who have mummy's attention.


Tea is no stranger in my daily routine, as I have 2-3 ups a day of my favorite organic herbal tea. I love to drink energizing teas such as black or green with ginger and lemon around this time, along with a bunch of ripe bananas or a few dates with raw nut butter or a handful of raw nuts (cashews, black walnuts, etc).


While I do love having a lunch that may consist or a nice cream or a smoothie bowl or a large fruit salad, I LOVE my monomeals. A mono meal is simply when you consume only 1 type of food and you don't do any kind of food combining. Sometimes, I will do a mono meal of 10 bananas, 6-7 mangoes, 2-3 pints of berries (strawberries, blackberries, raspberries or blueberries), 10-15 kiwis, 1 bag of apples, 1 whole watermelon, and so on. Simplicity is never a bad thing....and as much as I want of my favorite fruit - how could one go wrong?


If I find a craving approaching, a may do a fresh cold-pressed juice followed by a another cup of herbal tea. Liquids are great because they keep me full just long enough for me to prepare for feast for the evening. I always save the pulp for raw crackers, raw breads or salad dressings.


I love simplicity, but at times I can not resist having meals that are complex and full of flavor, like my Raw Taco with Spiced Black Walnut and Black Sesame "Meat", Kale, Purple Cabbage, Carrots, Burgundy Heirloom Tomato and my Diablo Anchocado Cream Sauce. A hearty meal and packed with protien and gives me the right amount of energy for my evening workout.


Ah, tea, we meet again. Such a perfect closure for the evening after a clay mask, shower, black sheets and a horror film after the little ones have been tucked in for the night. I usually go for lemongrass, chamomile, lavender or raspberry leaf tea.

So.....this is a taste of what I eat in a day. But I make sure to mix it up as often as possible, because veganism is never short of wonderful pairings and eats. Very soon, my YouTube Channel will feature videos for you to see and share.
